History of the Internet!

January 1, 1983 is considered the official birthday of the Internet. Previously, there was no consistent way for various computer networks to communicate with each other. A new communication protocol called Transfer Control Protocol/Internetwork Protocol (TCP/IP) was introduced.

The Internet originated in America in the 1950s. The Cold War was at its height, and tensions between North America and the Soviet Union were enormous. Both superpowers were in possession of deadly nuclear weapons, and people lived in fear of long-range surprise attacks. The US realised it needed a communications system that could not be affected by a Soviet nuclear attack.

Internet was based on the idea that there would be multiple independent networks of rather arbitrary design, beginning with the ARPAnet as the pioneering packet switching network, but soon to include packet satellite networks, ground-based packet radio networks and other networks. The internet began as ARPANET, an academic research network that was funded by the military`s Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA, now DARPA). The project was led by Bob Taylor, an ARPA administrator, and the network was built by the consulting firm of Bolt, Beranek and Newman.

Imaging the Future!

The Internet of the Future Will Be Bigger, Faster, Safer, and More Private. Internet technology is no longer in its infancy. Gone are the days of relying on wired connections, as weak dial-up connections were replaced by broadband, and many devices now connect to the Internet through wireless hubs. The Internet allows people to improve their quality of life. It opens access to things that were previously inaccessible. With nearly three million users, the Internet has evolved into one of the most important means of communication.

The next generation of social network users will be affected by accelerating digital innovations such as hyper-augmented reality and the development of brain-computer interfaces. By 2050, our eyes will have implants that allow us to access the digital world without the need for a display. The Metaverse, Metaworld, X-verse, or what it will eventually be called, is the new world of virtual and augmented reality that will replace the Internet as we know it.
